Terrance serves as the Chief Business Genius at Smarty Pants. His role as the CFO includes leadership on all financial matters, from A/R and A/P to payroll and taxes. His days are spent running projections, doing expense reconciliations, chatting with client procurement professionals and other mysterious things we don’t entirely understand.

Terrance also doubles as the company’s in-house legal consultant, providing guidance and managing the relationships with Smarty Pants’ attorneys. From contract negotiation, to data storage compliance, to privacy issues related to research execution and participation, Terrance somehow manages it all.

As if he weren’t busy enough, Terrance also leads the HR support staff on all insurance, health care, retirement and employee policy matters.

Terrance comes from a sales and business background. He has owned several businesses, including a multi-store QSR franchise. He brings a wealth of business acumen and understanding to the organization. He’s also a stickler for customer service, which you’ll hear in his voice if he answers the phone at the company’s headquarters.

Terrance lives with his wife of 34 years in Johnson City, TN. They have three adult sons and a one year old granddaughter. From church leadership to serving as a Little League board member, to coaching a high school football team, Terrance is highly involved with youth and families in his community.
