Nadia is a quantitative storyteller who believes numbers can change the world. She is passionate about all things research and excels at fieldwork, quality control and data analysis. Her methods know-how ranges from longitudinal studies to customer journey mapping to advanced analytics – experience she has gained working across educational institutions, utility services, government agencies and the corporate sector.

Nadia joined Smarty Pants as an Insights Whiz in late 2021. She hails from Silicon Valley and was most recently a junior analyst at Palo Alto-based Pacific Consulting Group (PCG). Her multi-mode research included work for government agencies like the IRS, National Park Service, Office of the Comptroller of the Currency and educational institutions to assist private K-12 schools successfully implement Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) programs and improve their academics, teachers and athletic programs.

Prior to PCG, Nadia flexed her numbers savvy and analytic skills as a Deposits Supervisor and Financial Aid & Scholarships Advisor at the University of California, Santa Cruz. (Go, Banana Slugs!). She has also held internships at the Chabot Space & Science Center and Asian Americans for Community Involvement (AACI) – serving as an awareness and membership builder with Spanish-speakers in Oakland for the former and a voter registration advocate with AAPI residents of San Jose for the latter.

Nadia holds a B.A. in Economics with Honors from UC Santa Cruz. (Yes, she geeked out to courses like Econometrics where, for example, she used a regression discontinuity approach to analyze the effects of the minimum legal drinking age.) She also earned a minor in both Statistics and Latin American Studies. In 2020, Nadia also completed courses in Data Analysis and Emerging Methods & The Future of Research at the University of Georgia.

In her free time, you can find Nadia rock climbing or rollerblading in San Jose under the warm California sun. On her lazier days, Nadia loves to watch TV while engaging in one of her many crafty projects like painting her nails, making jewelry and keychains, or painting. She and her husband are looking forward to adopting a cat in hopes of teaching it to fetch, go on walks and be ok with car rides!

  • Is a native Spanish speaker who also speaks French! Her love of languages is largely reflected in her taste in music and tv shows
  • Owns a huge collection of Tamagotchis ranging from the original 90s toy to newer 2021 models. Yes, they still exist!
  • Went on a 10-day backpacking trip where she had to carry all her clothes, food, toiletries, cooking supplies, and sleeping bag in a 30 lb. backpack
  • Has two older brothers that made sure she grew up loving Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, Legos and Pokémon
  • Has performed a variety of Latin dances as part of a college dance club
